Rurals Service Project goes online this 2020

In spite of COVID-19, the 3rd phase of Rural Service Project: Zambales continues online this year! Kanaynayan Community School will be distributing modules to their students this year. And with that, we need cash donations for brand new gadgets and educational materials (visual aids), that can aid in their continuous learning. Please see the attached poster for specific materials needed.

Banana Crumble with Fun!
We enjoyed banana crumble that was super easy to make!

​Banana Crumble
Ingredients:
Filling
1 ½ c sugar
3 c water
1 t cinnamon (optional)
1 piling na saba
Crumble:
2 c All purpose flour
1 c sugar
½ c butter
 
Procedure:

  1. Peel saba and chop into circles.
  2.  In a big bowl, mix chopped saba, 1 ½ cup sugar and water to create banana filling.  
  3. Boil over medium heat until sugar caramelizes. Set aside.
  4. While banana is cooking, mix flour, sugar and butter in a big bowl. Mix using one’s hand (do not knead) until butter is spread out evenly.
  5. In baking cups, place banana filling and spread crumble on top. Bake banana crumble for 20 minutes in 425 degrees in turbo.  Enjoy!

 Dewy Make-up for You

     Last November 11, Katreena De Guia, a senior architecture student from MAPUA, and one of Kultura's (Iraya's get-together committee) organizers, gave the Iraya girls a step-by-step tutorial on the popular Korean make-up style: the Dewy.

​       The Dewy is also known as the "'No make-up' make-up look," because it only requires a few make-up tools, and the goal is to produce a radiant look. In the Philippines, it has become a go-to make-up style because it suits the country's warm and humid climate. Read more ​
